What’s the best way to get rid of Bacterial Vaginosis without a perscription or doctor visit?

I would like to know if there’s any sort of medicine or something that my girlfriend could take to help her with BV, she’s extremely shy and she doesn’t want to tell her parents because they’re stupid and they’ll think it’s an STD, blame me and permanently separate us….

Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Some over-the-counter pills or something would be very helpful….
I heard something about GoldenSeal…?
I heard something of Yogurt, but I don’t understand that part; is it eaten, or what? O.o

peel a piece of garlic & tie a tampon string around it (might need to cut a groove in it to do this) & stick it up there :: change it every few hours & have her drink lots of cranberry juice & take lots of non-synthetic vitamin C

she’ll want to wear a liner or pad to try & mask the scent & she’ll think she’s going crazy: but she’ll be able to taste it

btw: it very well could have been the bacteria from your organ that caused it: but this is totally normal: make sure you shower 1st!

I would not recommend any so called home remedies. The vagina contains many normal flora species when these species become imbalanced or taken over by other species BV occurs. Although it is not clear how bacterial vaginosis is transmitted, it is more common in women who are sexually active. It sometimes develops soon after intercourse with a new partner. Women who have female sexual partners may be at higher risk than women who have sex with male partners. The link between specific sexual practices and BV is not conclusive; however, recent evidence supports the use of condoms to reduce the risk of this infection. You gf needs to take anitbotics to fight the infection. Home remedies just dont cut it, as for garlic that is rediculous, you should never left the VJ come in contact with non-aqueous substances, even soaps and body washes can affect the normal balance between normal flora present on the VJ. Plus the smell of garlic would be revolting! If you are concerned about her parents finding out go to a health clinic they often treat for free and if and she can request her parents not to be informed about the visit.
    Good luck

Honestly,I don’t know of any other BV remedy for her. Just,Take her to the doctor plz.[if you have a car]. This needs to be looked at asap! They will examine her then give her meds to take for a couple of weeks then it’ll be better. Been there done that. I was diagnosed at a very young age with BV. Take her. Gd luck!

if this was just a regular yeast infection she could just go to the store an buy an over the counter kit BUT its bacterial and the only thing that can cure a bacterial infection is antibiotics.
trust me i know that from experience. i thought i had a regular yeast infection so i got the monistat home kit and it didn’t work at all. i then went to my gyn and they tested me and said i had BV and thats why the regular yeast infection kit didn’t work.

    **edit**
the pill you are thinking of is only for yeast infections NOT BV.
also yogurt only works for yeast infections NOT BV. and you can eat it to help the yeast infection but you can also buy the non flavored plain yogurt and insert it like you would a monistat yeast infection kit.
but like i said these things don’t work for BV that is my point. BV can only be cured with a strong antibiotic called flagyl and you can only get it from a dr.

You can use apple cider vinegar and yogurt. Yogurt helps because it has bacteria in it that helps fight off the bad bacteria that causes bacterial vaginosis.

There are some other things you can do to get rid of it. I found a blog that explains what to do to permanently get rid of bacterial vaginosis.

I’ll leave a link to the blog below.

    hope this helps…

There are many herbal and home remedies for bacterial vaginosis that work very well for this problem. Some examples of home ingredients are – garlic, tea tree oil, yogurt, grapefruit seed extract, vinegar etc. Some of these are for external application on the vagina and some of the items are for oral consumption. Take a look at some of the articles on the page mentioned below for more detailed information.
