What are some good antibiotics for bacterial vaginosis?

It would be super helpful if you could list some brand names and if they're oral or not.

Flagyl…you get it by prescription from your doctor. Works well. When I've taken it it kind of makes me a little nauseous and leaves a bad taste in my mouth but the smell of the infection goes away usually within the next two days.

Also, try taking Acidophilus on a daily basis. It's supposed to help regulate your PH and restore good bacteria to help fight off the infection. I've been dealing w/ recurrent BV for about 9 months. The doctors and I can't figure out why I get an infection about once a month after my periods.

Good luck though! I know it can really be a drag!

The website I have below is for home remedies. If you're like me, antibiotics will not work no matter how exact you are with the directions and avoid all the triggers they tell you. I really like this site. It helps with everything.

There a few things that everyone needs to know about bacterial vaginosis:

    A. It's not a STD (sexually transmitted disease).
    B. You need to see a physician about it.
    C. The main cause of it is vaginal douches.
    D. In some cases it can be chronic (antibiotics won't solve it).
