Vaginal discharge problem?
->
I have always had a yellowy coloured discharge from my vagina every so often, even before I first started having sex. It normally came previous to my periods. Now I am on the depo provera jab and I am still getting this disgusting discharge. Why do I get this? It isn’t an STD as I have had it previous to being with my long term boyfriend. Any advice will be appreciated thanks xx
I hope it is not just me that gets this, I feel disgusting and feel like it smells a bit.

Probably a yeast infection
-
this is completely normal and it starts right after you hit puberty. all it is is secretion for the lining of the vagina and the cervix. as long as the color is clear or slightly yellow, you’re fine. if it seems to be any other color, you may want to get checked out by a doctor, as that can sometimes indicate an infection.
also, it’s only a yeast infection if you’re experiencing a lot of itching with it, as well as burning when you pee. so don’t worry too much about that unless you are having those symptoms.

The vagina is self-cleaning and illness, medication (including birth control), diet, water intake and exercise will effect your discharge as well as infection.
You normal white/clear discharge will turn yellow or dry yellow when exposed to air.
See your doctor.
Different types of infections:
Signs of yeast infections:
White, cottage cheese-like discharge
Swelling and pain around the vulva

Itching or burning
Slight redness and swelling of the vagina or vulvaSigns of trichomoniasis
A watery, yellowish or greenish bubbly discharge
An unpleasant odor
Pain and itching when urinating
Most apparent after your period

Vaginal discharge problem?

I've been having this problem for a while now. No matter what time of the month it is I have been having thick vaginal discharge that ranges from a light beige color to an orange color. I clean that area frequently but it appears even as soon as a half hour after I take a bath or shower. I itch a lot down there and a lot of times there can be an unpleasant odor. My grandmother recently passed away from ovarian cancer, could this be what I have? Other details are that I am 17 and a virgin. I also eat a lot of spicy foods, not sure if that could be part of it.

probably a yeast infection. try a monistat OTC product. never do the one day. get the 7. it works best.
-
its probally a yeast infection. go to cvs or walgreens and get some cream. youll be ok.
-
try what the first answer said. but first, get a test, you don't want to treat a yeast infection you don't have!
-
you should probably go see a gynecologist!!! asap!!! so that what ever it is doesn't get worse from neglecting to treat it
-
It sounds like some type of infection, could be a yeast infection. They have a test at the store you can buy, I know it sounds crazy but it tests to see if you indeed have a yeast infection. There's really no way to be sure if it's linked to anything like ovarian cancer unless you go and get checked out, but I've had lots of problems with this, before and after i started having sex, so it sounds like you've just got a yeast infection hon. Good Luck!

I am 12 and I don't think you should worry. I get the same exact thing and I have no infections or problems (not that I know of) and yu are probably fine too. It is so annoying, i know. It happens all the time and sometimes it feels like i'm wetting my pants or somehtying, but I'm not

I had cervical cancer and when I didn't know it I had a discharge but, it was more black and sometime I suppose it was beige in color I just know it was brownish to blackish, it never stopped either I felt bad just tired and it also had an odor but, I can't say it was itching a lot though. I had a pap's smear at the OB-GYN so you my need to go there for one tell your mom that you need this done ASAP cause it can cause you a bunch of trouble…. but then again you could have a urinary tract infection that can cause itching and burning with a discharge or a yeast infection, in any event you must see a Doctor cause you are getting to that age and us woman have to go through some BULL when it comes to our FEMALE HEALTH. so good luck and I wish you the best

I've had this vaginal problem ever since i started my period when i was 12, i have constant thick white discharge that is sometimes very smelly. I've been to the OBGYN about this 100's of times and they say its just i have an over growth of yeast. I'm so sick and tired of wearing pads to keep from destorying my undewear and i feel like this is just insane that something can be done about this. Does anyone else have this problem? If so do you have any cures or something that will clam it down?

Eat lots of yogurt.
-
Its called Thrush, and its easily treated using Canestan or similar (just have a chat to your pharmacist), also cut down on yeasty food like bread, marmite, beer etc, all that can aggravate the condition
-
My wife uses Monostat. Try Vagi cream also.
-
You need a new doctor that will listen to you and help……….
-
WOW, that sounds hot. You should come over to my house so I can eat you out.
-
yeah eat lots of yogurt.
-
Reduce carbohydrates in your diet and sugar.
-
Yogurt is a good suggestion. Some women just produce more than others. If it doesn't cause you pain, then it's not something that is like a yeast infection that can be treated with medicine.
-
I'm not aware of an "over growth of yeast" without there being a yeast infection. You say you have had this checked "100's of times"? Have you tried a new OBGYN? I have always had to wear panty shields, I'm very wet vaginally. But If you have enough to have to wear a PAD, that's something to check in to…go with another Dr.

go to the drugstore and buy azo and drink plenty of cranberry juice it should help with the infection and buy johnson and johnson aloe and cornstarch powder it will absorb the wetness and will keep you cool so the infection won't come back
-
This is called thrush, or in medical terms, vaginal candidiasis. It is generally caused by a fungus called Candida albicans. It is treated by using antifungal agents prescribed by your physician or gynaecologist e.g. fluconazole.

1. The typical American diet is high in sweets, dairy, and wheat, all of which promote yeast growth. So one thing you can look at is how you can change your diet to avoid them, and see if it works.
2. Yeast grows well in warm, moist environments. So avoid too tight jeans, synthetic underwear, pantyhose which which trap moisture and not as breatheable as cottons and loose fabrics.
3. Change the soaps, bath, sanitary products that you use. Sometimes the perfumes used in these products may cause irritation which may cause infection.
All the best

First of all control your sugar intake until you get this under control. No sweets, soda, and don't use sugar. Use Equal or something like it. Yogurt is good IF you get the old fashion kind, the newer stuff doesn't supply the stuff you need to get rid of yeast. I found this vitamin called Acidophilus that's real good! So if you find yogurt with "live lactobacillus acidophilus" in it, it's the good one. Also keep this vitamin in the fridge.Tip: try to your "girl" clean, cool, and dry. No panties at night and no tight pants. Hope this helps. Good Luck

No, I don't I can tell you I have the same problem Also, you can wear a pantyliner they are a ton more comfy then pads.

That sounds like an infection to me, and you should definitely go to a doctor to figure out what it is rather than treating it yourself.
Tell your mom about it, I’m sure she’ll take you to a doctor. Hope you feel better soon.

It is an infection. The greenish color says it all.
It is incredibly important that you go to your doctor. Don’t be embarrassed, as infections can come from a variety of sources that can often have nothing to do with your behavior!
If you allow it to go untreated, it will get much worse and have serious consequences.
You don’t say how old you are or if you’re worried about parents, but if you are, go to your closest clinic (you can find them online). It’s free and confidential!
