Hi Nicole, it sounds like you may have bacterial vaginosis, because of the discharge and the smell. Women have different levels of severity when it comes to bacterial vaginosis symptoms. Some women have hardly any smell and no discharge, while for others it can be really bad.
Your doctor can give you antibiotics to help clear the infection. You can also use home remedies for bacterial vaginosis which can be pretty effective.
Bacterial vaginosis occurs because there is more bad bacteria than good bacteria in the vagina. The way to clear this up is to reduce the bad bacteria and increase the good.
A good method is to mix in a couple of tablespoons of apple cider vinegar into your bath water and just sit in it a couple of times a day. The acid in the vinegar helps to destroy the bad bacteria.
Garlic is another good bacterial vaginosis home remedy, because it has antibiotic properties. This will not sound very appealing, but f you were to insert a clove of garlic into your vagina before going to bed, it will help to reduce the bad bacteria while you sleep. Just remove the clove in the morning.
The other thing that you can do is to start eating live yogurt, this contains a lot of good bacteria, and will help to get rid of vaginosis.
There are a lot of other ways to cure bacterial vaginosis naturally, so if you would like some more information on this, it may worth your while to take a look at the resource below.

I think your best bet is to go to the doctor, but it sounds more like a yeast infection to me. B.V. tends to give a grayish, darker discharge.

you more than likely have frequent yeast infections. common in people lacking vitamin b-12 and not enough good bacteria in the body. also bacteria that lives in the vaginal area keeps the yeast count low if there is anything to feed the yeast (like moisture) it will grow hints yeast infection
hopes this helps…, your helping CNA
