It happens at LEAST once a month. It is the most embarrassing thing to deal with. No, I am not "dirty". I practice proper hygiene daily, & I clean myself every time after I have intercourse with my husband. My doctor has prescribed me medicines. I’m sick of them having to do pap-smears so they can determine that it actually IS BV. I’m sick of having to wear a scented panty liner because of the disgusting smell. It’s embarrassing. I won’t use public restrooms. I eat a yogurt a day, just as my GYN suggested to help my flora levels. What is this acidophiles (sp?) that I hear about? Where can I get it? Does it help? When do I take it? Please help me. I’m so sick of losing this battle with BV :’(

Does your husband perform oral sex on you? If so, that could be the cause. The human mouth is full of bacteria and it can cause infections there. A lot of women get urinary tract infections from oral sex and they don’t realize that’s what’t causing it. Try to abstain for a while and see if that helps.
METALHEADGOTH is IGNORANT!!!!
Experts are not sure what causes the bacteria in the vagina to get out of balance. But certain things make it more likely to happen. Your risk of getting bacterial vaginosis is higher if you:
Have more than one sex partner.
Have a female sex partner.
Smoke.
Douche.
You may be able to avoid bacterial vaginosis if you limit your number of sex partners and don’t douche or smoke.
Bacterial vaginosis is more common in women who are sexually active, but it is probably not something you catch from another person.
it could b that u wash 2 much n scented pads wont help either…i no its horrible i have the same prob
try
not using scented body washes

hmm I get something similar to you, It happens every month, well symptoms vary, sometimes I dont dicharge It just burns like all hell and feels very raw, I dont have a STD I have been checked like a million times! I have also had a biopsy. And I am very very clean, unfortunatly with this sort of thing you have to be very patient with your doctor to get a proper diagnosis.
I have been told by my gynocologist that I have mild vulveral dermitis, I do get yeast infections or bv dont know really as I have never been able to get the discharge tested, by the time I get appointemnt it has gone and I’m at square one agin, anyway this irritates the dermitits and i am left in alot of pain every month- so you are not alone.
Things that help:
My gyn told me that I was being too pedantic down there- using soap, douching, wash cloths etc, I know its a catch 22 you get infection and it isnt a pleasant smell so you use soap or in your case sented panty liners, but soap additives/perfumes changes your ph levels, so just use water and your hand, I buy babywipes aswell as a replacement for wash cloth.
Dont douche as you are washing away good bacteria.
Yoghurt is good for you. Keep eating it.
There is a product called rephresh which i find is good.
I also read somewhere that girls can be allergic to their own oestrogen?? something I will be looking into soon. I hope this helps in someway, It gets VERY frustraing I know, If you ever need to chat you can add me.
