I've been having thick white discharge from vagina for a while now. Pretty much what it is, is this odd white substance that looks kind of cottage cheesy. I don't think it has a scent at all. I doubt it's the discharge before my period because I had my period two weeks ago & I've been having this discharge for a while now.

a couple of things:
– it doesn't smell (or at least i don't think it does?)
– it doesn't itch
– it doesn't burn
– i'm a virgin

my vagina feels pretty fine if you ask me.
but still i think the discharge is kind of disgusting, & i want to get rid of it.

uhm, if it helps, the discharge kind of disintegrates like lotion if you rub it.
i had some of it in my hand and i rubbed it between my index finger and thumb and it kind of dissipated like lotion would… i don't know if that makes sense but yeah.

any ideas of what this could be?

  1. Discharge is normal. I know you are thinking it's disgusting but there is no real way to rid your body completely of it, as it's the vagina's way of cleaning itself. If it doesn't smell, or have any odd color (like yellow or green) then it's normal discharge.

  2. how old are you?…if your young and have never had your period then that's normal

if you're old and have sexual intercouse, then that's also normal

    anything else it's weird…go see a doctor!

  3. Well, It Could, By A CHANCE Be Infected, I'd Check With My Doctor If I Were You.

  4. Different Types of Discharge

White: Thick, white discharge is common at the beginning and end of your cycle. Normal white discharge is not accompanied by itching. If itching is present, thick white discharge can indicate a yeast infection.

Clear and stretchy: This is "fertile" mucous and means you are ovulating.

Clear and watery: This occurs at different times of your cycle and can be particularly heavy after exercising.

Yellow or Green: May indicate an infection, especially if thick or clumpy like cottage cheese or has a foul odor.

Brown: May happen right after periods, and is just "cleaning out" your vagina. Old blood looks brown.

Spotting Blood/Brown Discharge: This may occur when you are ovulating/mid-cycle. Sometimes early in pregnancy you may have spotting or a brownish discharge at the time your period would normally come. If you have spotting at the time of your normal period rather than your usual amount of flow, and you have had sex without using birth control, you should check a pregnancy test.

Glands inside your vagina and cervix make small amounts of fluid. This fluid flows out of the vagina each day, carrying out old cells that have lined the vagina. This is your body's way of keeping your vagina healthy and clean. The discharge is usually clear or milky and doesn't smell bad.

The color and thickness of the discharge change with your monthly cycle. The discharge is thicker when you ovulate (when one of your ovaries releases an egg), when you breastfeed or when you're sexually excited.

  5. Like you said – it's just a discharge. This is how your vagina cleans itself out, the penis does a similar thing. I see this all the time at work, it's normal for teens and women to experience this.

Question, though, how old are you? If you begin to get excessive discharge, go to your doctor. But how you're describing it, it sounds perfectly normal.

  6. i don't think it would be a yeast infection because you would be scratching yourself to death if it was. to me it sounds exactly like a bacteria infection which can be taken care of easily with just one pill from your doctor. you can also buy vaginal screening tests from walmart or any drug store to find out exactly what it is.
