Is it harmful to have sex while diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis?

I am 14 weeks pregnant and doctor prescribed flagyl. On the 4th day of taking flagyl I had sex with my husband and now I am worried that it is going to do no good to take the pill should I keep taking them or just quit taking them I have 6 left.

Keep taking them. I had BV while pregnant. Still had sex. Caused no issues. The Flagyl got rid of it right away, and I didn’t have it come back. Having sex isn’t going to effect it. The dr. would have told you if having sex was bad.

    Keep taking them

uh ya keep taking them. if your doctor didnt say anything about sex then i dont think its a big deal. i had the same thing but my doctor didnt say anything about sex. he just told me take the medicine everyday until completed and then he will examine me next appointment. i just chose not to do it until i was done with the meds.

I had it once about 9 years ago, so I don’t remember all that well, but it seems to me that it was pretty painful for me to have sex. Since it obviously wasn’t for you, don’t worry about it. Just continue taking the pills (it would be silly to stop).
