Is a Gynecologist the only type of doctor you can see for Bacterial Vaginosis?

Or can you just go to your regular Family Doctor? I have had BV in the past and always went to a Gynecologist but she has since moved out of the area and I don't have the time to drive the 50+ miles to see her this week. I can't take off work for that long.

There are other Gynecologists in my area but choosing one is hard. Thanks for any info =)

You can see your regular family doctor, just tell him/her that you suspect you have BV again. Of course a gynecologist is the prime choice here, but your regular doctor should know how to treat it. I'd just make sure I told the doctor what I suspect is the problem.

Your family doctor should be able to test and treat you for BV. Also, you can get your family doctor to refer you to a new gyn that you like. It is a good way of finding a new doctor.

    best wishes..
