It could just be a yeast infection. Yeast infections also come with smell, itching, and discharge. Discharge with a yeast infection is normally clumpy and off-white/yellow, and smells/looks like cottage cheese or yeast. And if it is a yeast infection, then the redness can be from irritation or the itching. Doctors normally diagnose yeast infections by taking a sample of urine and testing it for yeast. I have been treated for yeast infections by my doctors twice and they have never done an exam on me for it. You could also try going to a regular family doctor instead of an OB/GYN. The family doctor will still be able to treat you and might not do a pelvic exam on you. It might not be bacterial vaginosis. It could just be a yeast infection.
