I understand you are embarrassed, but there is no reason to be. Sometimes these things happen, and you will not be the first patient to go in with a problem. Yes, the doctor will have to examine you. They will take a swab from your vagina and look at it under a microscope to determine what the problem is. After that, you will get a prescription (if needed). If this is your first appt., just try to relax. It is awkward at first, but nothing to be afraid of. Just take slow, easy breaths.

I know its embarrassing especially to be 14 but relax, you'll be fine. A gynecologist is there to help you and there is nothing that you have that they have not been trained to see and treat. However the more you stress about it, the worse your symptoms can get. More than likely, you will get examined and they will probably swab the area to run tests just to help them rule out any possible conditions. But as long as everything is normal, you will probably just get antibiotics (internal and external) and within a few days you'll be feeling much better! The key to all GYN visits for the rest of your life is to RELAX!! lol

I usually stare at the ceiling and think about something to help disconnect until its over :)
