I’m not sure what happened but I notice a change in the odor and amount of discharge I now have. Its been about 3 months since I first noticed it. Its rather unpleasant odor, I never had smells like this before. There is more discharge, and its more yellow than the usual milky color. But unlike the typical symptoms I guess it doesn’t smell fishy but more like uriney… And also unlike the typical BV symptoms it doesnt itch or burn around the area. So confused… Also Im 19, not sexual active, I’ve never had sex. I don’t know if this is just a part of developing or if its an infection.
If its not BV, then how do I get back to normal? I feel like I can’t have anyone sit near me or by my legs cause it might smell, so selfconcious now

When I had BV I had the same things going on.
I didnt actually think I had it because my symptoms wasnt exactly like it. Instead of the fishy smell, I just had a strong order that I couldnt really put a name to. I had a huge amount of discharge & though I never itched..Its burned after I got done peeing.
My advice is go to your doctor if it is BV then she will give you pills for it. You will have to take them for 7 days, two times a day & it will take care of it. & if its not BV then the doctor will be able to tell you what is going on
Best of luck
Never wash yourself internally. The worst smells are caused by having an abundance of bad bacteria down there and washing the inside of your vagina causes you to have more bad bacteria, not less. This is because a woman’s natural discharge inhibits the growth of hostile bacteria. By cleaning your discharge away you would be creating an environment in which bad bacteria can multiply — not a good idea. Douching is the cause of many bacterial and fungal infections.
So, only wash yourself externally; never internally!
Hard to say, you need to go to the doctor and they will be able to give you an examination and let you know what it is for sure.
I was tucking into a cheese sandwich as well
It seems like you are well educated about this but I am hoping this article may be able to help you by giving you any possible new information. Take care.
Bacterial Vaginosis Symptoms
Bacterial vaginosis has more than one symptom, which are categorized as primary and secondary. You should be aware of the symptoms and never ignore any of these symptoms as the condition can lead to other health problems. The truth is that many times, Bacterial vaginosis was not diagnosed after a pelvic exam and some women may not experience the symptoms to large degrees. Thus, even the smallest symptom should be reported to your physician or the proper treatment should be used.
Bacterial Vaginosis Primary Symptoms
•Vaginal discharge: The discharge is usually yellow or green, but some women have noticed a gray or even white discharge with BV.
•Vaginal odor: The odor is the most common and noticeable symptom which smells fishy. If you notice this odor, you have Bacterial vaginosis and need to seek treatment.
•After sexual activity: The vaginal discharge will be increased with the same odor.
Bacterial vaginosis Secondary Symptoms
•Swollen vagina
•Vaginal itch
•Pain during sexual intercourse
•Urination is painful
•Burning sensation in the vagina
•Irritation of the vagina
If you notice one or both of the primary symptoms especially the odor along with two or three of the secondary symptoms you have bacterial vaginosis and need to seek treatment.
Can bacterial vaginosis cause continuing problems?
The answer is yes! Bacterial vaginosis can move up from the vagina and into the womb. From here, the infection can move to the fallopian tube, which brings on pelvic inflammatory disease. Pelvic inflammatory disease can lead to infertility. In some cases, bacterial vaginosis has been the cause of miscarriages late in pregnancy and premature labor.
The odor alone can bring on depression and cause you to want to stay away from others, which can cause all kinds of problems for your social activities. Since bacterial vaginosis is painful during intercourse and you do not want your partner to smell the odor, your relationship can also suffer. Your partner may not understand why you are pushing him away and may believe it is his fault.
Curing bacterial vaginosis is essential instead of just a temporary solution.
