I have B V but I am taking Metronidazole (Flagyl) Starting date 12/09/11 but my discharge stop the first day (BUT) the( ODOR) is still (HERE) . I have too take my med. for 7days I hope that the odor will go away forever & never come back I have 4days left if the discharge stop maybe the odor will stop after I finish my med?????:-(

There’s alot of ppl that say wash dwn there, i agree to that for smell, but not every hav a smell just discharge. And there is a way to lessen it drink water and eat fruit more plus i hear the gyn say fruit can do some great things for ur loved one if they like fruit too.

it happened to me too! i know how to clean up myself. thank god im not the only person who have strong odor… like the first person said horniness can cause lol… some research said doing exercise when i go to exercise i got wet on my underwear maybe it is good because it need to come out in my vagina and eating health food and drink 8 bottles of water in one day for everyday. i have a lesbian friend she said if you wear a thong, leggie or any tight short and jean a lot that can cause too.wear basketball short or anything that is not too tight… vagina need some air! also you can try to not put underwear on when you go to bed.. Let me first say that it does not make you insecure to wonder if that means your man is cheating. When I was first diagnosed with BV, I thought the very same thing because I was misinformed. BV is not a STD, but can have something to do with sex. I was told by my physician that it typically comes from a change in your PH balance. And guess what having sex can in fact change your PH balance. In my case it appears that I have an overgrowth of the good bacteria and that is what causes it. It is a horrible issue to have because it can be embarrassing and cause discomfort with having sex. I would say talk to your doctor more about it. My doctor recommended that I take acidophilus, it is a probiotic supplement to help balance the bacteria in your body. Also, yogurt has probiotic. Stay away from douching and make sure you wipe front to back. I hope these things help. God luck and God Bless

You have a bacterial Infection hun, which is normal if you have a lot of unprotected sex with your partner. Call your doctor and he will put you on an antibotic and recommend you to use protection from time to time and to pee before and after sex to get rid of some of that bacteria. I’m a nurse and we treat people everyday, good luck.

Ever since i was about 13, i have been suffering from vaginal discharge. When it first started, i had just barely started puberty but would not get my period for another year. I am now 16 and the discharge has only gotten worse. It is a thick, sticky, clear to whitish substance that can sometimes be yellowy when it dries. Although it does not cause severe burning, itching, or any pain, it is extremely wet and uncomfortable. Are there any cures for this annoyance besides panty liners?

I would ask him out right, they never confess but he would feel guilty that you may know. If he isnt cheating even better. You can use tea tree oil, actually if u do a web search, tea tree oil is one of the most common products suggested to use. I think the other people who posted thought you were thinking of using it as is. You shoul mix 2 drops to 6 oz of purified water.

What you should go do is see your OB, because everyone is different @ heating man, I don’t know where you got off saying to wash more, but a womans private is very sensitive, and a minor offset of ph balance can throw everything off. People like you need some help because that was wrong…Maybe you have an inner problem with yourself. Hi,
I actually started using Vinegar as a douche PLUS orally ingested (mixed with 8oz water)…to clear a Vagina odor problem.

It seemed to work for a while…until suddenly…that offensive odor was back. I simply decided to chuck the Vinegar douche/ orals altogether…& now i’m smelling clean as new

are you taking birth control, nuva ring gave me a bad smell and when I changed to lo estrin it still wont go away I’m sure it’s a horminal upset causing the ph disruption. I came off all my bc and it went away no problems. so now I’m looking into another form of bc. I was tested for everything too and negative for bv and everything else.

I was skeptical and confident at the same time about using yogurt to cure BV. I tried it though for the first time just this last week and WOW I am amazed. Before this I used the traditional doctor prescribed Flagyl which works wonderfully; however, I disliked the fact that one of the main problems with it is that it causes cancer in lab rats. So how can that be good for us especially if you get recurrant BV. So this time I said no doctors for me and instead tried this….dipping a tampon in the plain yogurt and letting it soak for 5 to 10 minutes and then inserting it and leaving it in over night. I also ate about 8 oz of plain yougurt every day. I did both of these things for 6 days and it is GONE! I can’t stress enough how true this is and how thankful I am that I did the research about using this method to cure BV.

YOU ARE WRONG !!! Apple Cider Vinegar bath DOES CURE Bacterial Vaginosis. I am one that has used metrogel at least 3 or 4 times a year for 15 years. Then i found out about adding apple cider vinegar to my bath. i even had my doctor re-check me and it was gone. I know the smell of Bacterial Vaginosis, when you shower, smell your washcloth after you wash down there, it will have a sour smell. Metro Gel does not prevent it coming back. Most women have it and don’t even know it. I have not had to use MetroGel for a year and a half now !!!! i now take a vinegar bath each week to stay BV free.

to cure it, i took a vinegar bath for 3 days in a row. I like hot baths about 6 inches deep of water, so i put 3 cups of Apple cider Vinegar in mine. then i sit in it, spread my legs open, and splash it into my vaginal area. I even squeeze my butt cheeks back and forth to make the water kinda go up there ( I do not douch with it at all). I sit in there for a good 15 minutes. Then also don’t use antibacterial soap to wash your butt area. This kills the good bacteria and can make BV come back. I wash my body with dial antibacterial, but i use a separate mild soap (kiss my face ‘olive oil’ brand soap) to was my vaginal area, but any non anti bacterial soap would do.

Try it, get tested at your dr. office, go fill the Metrogel prescription, but instead of using the Metrogel, Try a Apple Cider Vinegar bath, keep smelling that area (on your washclother or some toilet paper) and see if it ain’t gone in 3 days. Have your dr. test you again and see if it ain’t gone.

I have been getting the exact same thing. I have recently been tested for all std’s and everything came back negative along with my partner, except for bacterial vagnosis – which the dr. told me is not sexually transmitted – meaning my partner isnt carrying it. They seem to know very little about it, but you do need antibiotics to treat it, such as flagyl. My partner is also well endowed, and I did noticed the tiniest bit of blood last time, my the vaginal wall theory is true. anyways – i wouldnt jump to conclusions that he is cheating if it is infact bacterial vagnosis, as men can not carry or transfer it…

It could be thrush, when using scented products in the genitals it is very harmful becuase those bits are very delicate as well as sensitive. Use non-scented soaps down there, & don’t spray stuff there (not that you do, but i’v known some people that have because they want to make it smell nice before oral sex, not that any of that is your business… lol) So dont spray and perfumes or diodrants & when washing don’t scrub too hard as this can cause uncomfortable itchyness. I would go to your doctor to see what the actual main reson is, dont belive everything you read on the internet, maybe it isnt thrush thats causing your itchness & pain when getting rid of feces but just keep in mind the above things to prevent getting thrush in the future. Lol I know im probbably to late – this was like two years ago o well, to warn others cya & tace care.

Well I have been Dealing BV since i was 8 years old that’s over 16 years for me. I went to the doctor about 2 month ago in Dec , and they gave me Flagyl, the insert jell. And i thought it was giving me my women hood, that i never got to experince, till i figured out that i was allergic to it… and come to find out more info about it, it only works for a few months and possibly pops back up after sex. till i was on this website, and it said use peroxcide and mix it with water douche. Take Folic acid, and Acidophilis-a Probiotic. Put one Acidophilis into your vagina, that helps restore the HP balance in your Vagina. Douche with peroxcide 2 time a day. I did it last night, and OMG, i couldn’t believe who fast it working. so i 8 years old when it started now i’m 24, and i got my damn women hood. i want to cry because i experience going out in public not worring about are people going to smell me, or going to a friends house with the dogs constently sniffing me though the house. so there you are…. DO IT!!! IT WORKS!!

umm, well DUH!!!, no you cannot return the tube back to the store that is just nasty and it won’t be like you are returning the used applicators ,no. But i can almost guarantee you that your hands have touched that tube right? and unless you wash your hands with antibacterial soap because most companies that make regular soap use yeast to make them so that means you would probably after putting in the medicine then turned around and washed your hands with lets for example say a bar of dial or dove soap so that means that you have just made the yeast on your hands worst and you did not even know it because it may not be enough to effect you in everyday life but when you go to wipe down there again you have just made it worst!!,and i am not trying to say these things to make you feel bad just sit down and think about it for a min and if you are burning when you put the yeast infection cream in i know some yeast infection creams like monistat really do burn some people with every application because the yeast is so bad or their bodies are just sensitive to the drug in it that makes it work, another thing is that if you are burning and the yeast infection cream did not work you may not have a yeast infection it may be something else

Have gone through two rounds of different antibiotics, hormone creme and one yeast infection pill as a precaution for BV. Foul odor and discharge are still there. Do not have burning or itching but feel heat (temp). The odor won’t go away and is driving me crazy. Should I go to the Dr again? $ 50.00 copay each time and have already been in multiple times. I too have herpes but no signs of it in many years. I am menopausal and only have sex with spouse though not very often. Could it be Ph gone wild? What can I do?

It most definitly can!!! It is the lactose (milk sugar). I am lactose intolerant and cannot have milk, pizza, ice cream, sour cream etc. All these foods lead to bacterial vaginosis. Substitute with lactose free items and you’ll be BV free!!

I’m 15 and started my period when I was 12. I also get this white discharge and for a while I found it quite embarrasing. I told my mum about it and she told me it was completely normal. I have got used to it now as I know it doesn’t just happen to me :/ don’t be scared to tell anyone, I was for a while but once you know it’s normal you feel a lot better..
