BV TREATMENT question…?

My doctor prescribed me some cream to insert in my vagina for BV at first it was working for about a week and now it has come back. I still have some left over cream from about three months from using it, the expiration date says that it doesnt expire until 2011. I was wondering was it safe to finish off my treatment, or is it a bad idea because it has been opened and i’ve used it before?

You can start using it again but you won’t have enough medication left to cure the problem. You need to be calling your doctor who will probably give you another complete round of medication – just make sure you finish the entire course recommended.

Its safe to use but you night need oral treatment if its recurred

you need to see your doctor, there are different types of bacterial infections that respond to different antibiotics. It may have come back because you didn’t finish your course of treatment. Always finish the antibiotics they give you.
