bad odor and discharge.. bacterial vaginosis?

basically ive been with my boyfriend for 2 years and we have unprotected sex most of the time & im on birthcontrol. ive never had any oder problems before i started having sex with him. it all started when one day i suddenly smelled this horrible strong smell and itching + discharge.. i also remember smelling this same oder on my partner now my vigina smells the same. i ended up going to the doctor because i assumed it was from him. they didnt tell me what i had but gave me antibiotics and sure enough everything went away until i had sex with him again. now i dont have coverage an go to planned parenthood an they just try & give me yeast medicine which i know will not take it away like antibiotics does. oh and me and my partner dont have an std. for 2 years i delt with this an im not even sure if its BV. but all i know is the antibiotics took it away for good and everytime i have sex with my bf the oder an discharge comes back.. i just dont understand.

This sounds very frustrating! I know you don’t think that this is a yeast infection, but it is possible. My friend has them very commonly and even gave the yeast infection to her boyfriend! I would go see the doctor and explain it to him/her again very carefully. Sometimes doctors are too dismissive and you need to give lots of details so that they understand.
