Abnormal Vaginal Discharge?

Last night I had noticed that I had some slightly green vaginal discharge and wasn’t too pleased. In march I had seen a doctor about it and she thought it was a yeast infection so she gave me an antibiotic which was only one pill. I’m puzzled why this had returned, or never left (if thats the case) because I haven’t been sexually active in almost a year and this started occuring in March. Any ideas on what this green colored flegm might indicate?

yeast infections usually do reaccure from time to time.go back to your doctor you may need need another round of anti biotics and with it being summer time and all panties can cause infections along with bathing suits wear cotton panties and if you go swimming take you bathing suit off as soon as possible and make sure you keep your area dry and clean do not douche or use any powders just plain soap and water.good luck – cookie

  2. Captain Jack says:

Green discharge means you have a infection and need to see your GYNO asap. That’s not yeast it’s usually a sign of a std called Trichomoniasis .

  3. gynodoc says:

green is an unusual color for yeast but not impossible, what other symptoms are you having, oder should be yeast or bread like, itching or burning, if oder is foul or fishy this is not yeast, stds don’t always show up the next day they need time to incubate and grow not implying this is your case, see a gyno and get this resolved as your body is trying to tell you something is wrong, if it is yeast do the following, mix 3 tablespoons white 5% acidic vinegar to 1 qt. water and douche followed by diluted plain yogurt (live active culters) and douche again, it is not recommended to douche more than 3 times a month, vinegar premixes are available at your local drug store as summer eve, if this doesn’t resolve your problem then see your specialist, hope this helps!

  4. sukhwinder g says:

the green vaginal discharge is called leucohorea . it will get suppressed with anti biotic medicine but it will reoccur again , green discharge is not good for health should be cured
douche the vagina with luke warm water add anti septic like calendula or some thing vaginal douche is freely available
please try to get homeopathy remedy PULSATILLA-30 or 200
single dose every day for 4 days will check the reoccurring if you get relief with anti biotic even you call for pulsatilla
do douching one a day 3 days then alternatively but once a week should continue it enhance cleansing
drink plenty water to flush out the toxin – pulsatilla will help thusrt to rise

Abnormal vaginal discharge?

Around 10 months ago, my vaginal discharge become much heavier than normal. It used to only be heavy a little before my period, but now its a thick, white, stringy, and sticky at all times of the month. I went to the Gyno around 8 and a half months ago and was tested for STD’s and nothing came back positive.

I’ve always had a problem with yeast infections. I get them after a new sex partner, after my period, and while I take antibiotics.

I’m wondering if this is just what is natural for me now, or if there may be a problem my doctor isn’t looking for or hasn’t found?

Some women do have a heavier discharge, but I would get a second opinion.

i have the same thing. the doc told me it was normal. that didn’t really make me feel better though. it helps to wash down there. i even kinda scoop it out in the shower with my finger then wash with Summer’s Eve® Feminine Wash and then use the blow dryer to dry myself down there. this helps a lot. stress makes it worse and if i eat a lot of sweets.. sugar helps the yeast grow. also i didn’t wear underwear to bed just shorts (helps if the bed is clean to). you really didn’t want heat down there. so if it is hot shorts are a must.

    i hope this helps

Abnormal Vaginal Discharge?

Good evening…I have been expereincing an light pink to plum looking color sometimes heavy discharge that is constant. This abnormal looking discharge has coexist with mild itching and burning on and off all lasting now for the past week. These symptoms I do know are not in lieu of my period and I am not quite sure if it is infection. But being that I was diagnosed with HPV years ago it is very possible that I might have an infection from that maybe?

It sounds like you have Chlamydia. You need to see a Dr. and get treated.

It sounds like your vagina has a cold and a runny nose. Just get it some tissue and cold medicine.

  3. Hold says:

did you have sex and the guy cumed into you and it was sticky and it might have got stuck in it. If not then you might need to get a douche and clear that up. and if that doesnt work then i would have to agree with tim.

It's totally normal, or at least I think so – I went through the same thing, and it is very uncomfortable and annoying. I would get light pads and/or pantiliners. It will end, even though it probably feels like you've had it forever. It's just this phase your body goes through to clean everything out or whatever. I usually get it before I get my period. I know this sounds kind of weird, but I think doing some research online would be helpful, since I'm only speaking from experience. Good luck!

  2. Jenna says:

Thats perfectly normal to have that. Have you had your period yet? This is a sign you will be getting it soon. And if you have had it, its still perfectly normal throughout your whole life. But a piece of advice – you may tend to discharge more right before and right after your period. Use pantiliners to help if you get wet underwear.

  3. Jess Wil says:

everyone has some sort of discharge, its when it smells that its something to worry about because this shows that there is some infection .. if there is a lot of it you could try wearing a pad and if it doesnt clear up in time. make an appointment with ur doctor..
if its yellow you could have a yeast infection, an STI, allergic reaction, pregnancy, changes in ur hormones there are loads of things that could be the cause of ur discharge

  4. Perri says:

That is totally normal. In woman who are healthy, vaginal discharges are a clear, milky white, or yellowish color that is either sticky, slippery, or have a mucus-like consistency.

The only time you would have to worry is if the discharge is a brownish or greenish color, looks like cottage cheese, causes itching or burning, or has a sickly sweet or strongly unpleasant smell…these symptoms are just a sign of infection. If this ever comes up, tell a parent and they will take you to a doctor to get it treated.

    I hope this helps :)

  5. *waiting for a falling star* says:

Its normal to have a lot of discharge. Its just means that you are healthy and will probably be getting your period soon. But soon could mean a few days, a few weeks, or in 6 months. No one really knows. But you will get it soon. A few months before I started my period I got A LOT of discharge everyday. But all you have to do is wear some pantyliners. You don't have to tell your mom. Just go to the store, go to the pad section and grab a package of pantyliners and go to the checkout [that a girl is working at] really fast and don't be embarrassed because the check out people really don't care if you're buying pantyliners. And especially if its a girl then she will get that you're a girl and so don't worry about it. Then just keep the pantyliners in your room and use them when you need to. And keep some pantyliners with you in your purse or at school cuz your period could come anytime. Hope this helps:)

Abnormal vaginal discharge???

For the past few days Ive had this mucus clear gooey discharge with a bit of blood. It has the texture and stickyness of hair gel. There isnt much of it, I really only notice it when I wipe and it is definitely vaginal.
I had my period on march 5th so it shouldn't be my period again. Me and my boyfriend had sex 7ish days ago.
I have never experienced a discharge like this B4. What could it be?? Should I shrug it off? Has anyone experienced this b4?

P.S. Not sure if this is related but last time me and my Boyfriend had sex I had a extremely bad backache and some cramps after.
P.P.S. I had a baby 4 months ago and Im breastfeeding
1st off I dont think my situation is anything to be ashamed of. Im not dirty, I dont think it is something I need to hide my face about.
2nd Boys why would you even read this question and choose to answer lol?? Weird.

and u put a picture of your face with that question? o, boy. did your parents drop u from a chair in your childhood?

  6. Liralen says:

Do not listen to these posters. A clear mucus is COMPLETELY normal. Most healthy young women experience this. You should only be concerned if the discharge becomes yellow, green or grey in color, causes pain, or develops an unpleasant odor. Otherwise it's totally normal–it's your body's natural lubrication. A noticeable increase at this time after a pregnancy might be due to starting ovulation again. Many women don't ovulate while breastfeeding, but some do–it's normal either way.

  7. pretzypie says:

Glands inside your vagina and cervix make small amounts of fluid. This fluid flows out of the vagina each day, carrying out old cells that have lined the vagina. This is your body's way of keeping your vagina healthy and clean. The discharge is usually clear or milky and doesn't smell bad.

The color and thickness of the discharge change with your monthly cycle. The discharge is thicker when you ovulate (when one of your ovaries releases an egg), when a woman is breastfeeding or when you're sexually excited.

Changes that may signal a problem include an increase in the amount of discharge, a change in the color or smell of the discharge, and irritation, itchiness or burning in or around your vagina. This is called vaginitis. A discharge that's stained with blood when you're not having your period could also be a sign of a problem. Some other types of infections such as yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis and trichomoniasis can also cause discharge that is usually accompanied by odor such as beer/yeast/fish.

I would recommend that if you have any of these signs or any concerns regarding this you consult with your doctor for a proper diagnosis and for proper treatment should you have anything other than just a normal vaginal discharge.

    Good luck :)

I have a wierd vaginal discharge, it's thin and yellowish and it smells bad. I am not itching, no burning, just a lot of thin discharge coming out of me. I don't have any bumps or sores on myself but this is worriying me. I was looking online to see if I could figure out what this was….anyone have any clue?

The doc will give you a pap smear and depending on what they find the treatment could be liquid nitrogen on your cervix or an antibiotic cream, or tablet to take orally. Don't be scared just be glad you have the guts to tell the doc unlike many women who just get those flowery smelling douches.
I had something like this about a year ago. Sometimes they go away without treatment, but sometimes they don't… and it's very uncomfortable to live with.
Good Luck at the doc :)

  2. gypsyveg says:

My guess is that it's trichomoniasis – the doctor will give you meds.

    Signs of bacterial vaginosis:
A white, gray or yellowish vaginal discharge
A fishy odor that is strongest after sex or after washing with soap
    Itching or burning
Slight redness and swelling of the vagina or vulva

    Signs of trichomoniasis
A watery, yellowish or greenish bubbly discharge
    An unpleasant odor
    Pain and itching when urinating
    Most apparent after your period

  3. Nelson M says:

    Mimi G,
Yellowish, foul-smelling vaginal discharge is a sign of vaginal infection. Said infection could be caused by bacteria, Trichomonas and/or yeast. Basing on the appearance of your excretion, the most plausible diagnosis would be a Trichomonial origin. Treatment would be Metronidazole 500 mg. – 1 tablet 3x a day for 7 days. It is advisable to have both partners take this medication, even asymptomatic, to avoid recurrent infections. *No alcohol consumption nor sexual contact during treatment. Also Albothyl vaginal supp. – 1 supp every other night for 7 doses. Additional Advice: 1. use unperfumed soaps and washes. 2. keep vaginal area clean and dry. 3. wipe from front to back after urination or after bowel movement. 4. use cotton underwear only. That's all…

Abnormal vaginal discharge?

I have been having abnornal vaginal discharge for about a week now and with my "condition" I cannot find much information to help…hoping someone with experience might read this? I have ovarian and cervical cysts, and my uterus and cervix have been pushed all the way over to left out of place. (I'm guessing the cyst on my right ovary is growing quickly, making room for itself…) And for the past week I have been having a very white thick discharge. I am sure it's not an infection, there's no foul odor and no itch… just the discharge. I am not sure if it has anything to do with the cysts and all my organs being squooshed around? If anyone can help, please. I was just at the doc's Friday and I have to wait two weeks for results, and have another ultrasound on Dec. 6, so I am trying to somewhat avoid another office visit for the time being unless absolutely necessary.

if it doesnt itch or burn it really should be ok to wait till you see the doctor again.

  2. bjperez07 says:

you dont have to go to the doctors just to see what's going onwith her. im sure they have an advice nurse that you can talk to. tell that nurse all the conditions that you are experiencing and ask them what ways you can prevent it if possible.

it can be due to menstrual periods. sometimes women can get discharge before or after periods.

for now, use a pad to let the discharge go onto to. do not use a tampon for this matter.

goodluck. sorry to hear about the cysts. the doctor just found one in me. small, but it may be preventing pregnancy for me.

  3. char d says:

The cyst is draining. Unless you begin to have sharp pain you are ok untill your ultasound. I am speaking from experience. Warm compress to your abdomen should help. No lifting.

For what I am about to tell you, you being a nurse should know that this can't hurt you. Get some Alka-Seltzer original, follow the directions on the package. After taking 2 or 3 doses of this, see if your problems are not gone. After the first doses the abnormal discharge should be gone. This is a very good infection killer to take. I will stake my life on it. I am very serious about it in killing an infection. It is faster, cheaper, and not messy like the other ones are. The others take 2-3 days or more to kill an infection, when this will do it in 2-3 hours.

It sounds like you may be describing the normal 'egg-white' fertile mucus that occurs during ovulation. It is heaviest at the time of ovulation and should go away in about 3 or 4 days.

It would be clear, stretchy and look and feel like egg white. Nothing to worry about.
